Consideration tr bids and <br /> awarding of a contract for <br /> Remediation. Report No. 07-286. Resolution No. 07-116. City Project 07-12, <br /> Northwest Quadrant Phase <br /> Director of Public Works Grant Wyffels outlined the scope of the proposed project Because the 2 Demolition, soil correction <br /> City does not control the railroad area, that area will be avoided in this project. The bidding & Environmental <br /> Remediation. <br /> process was reviewed, 13 bids were submitted, Bel Air excavation produced the lowest bid Report No. 07-286. <br /> Councilmember Hoffinan requested Mr. Wyffds report on the grants received In December of Resolution No. 07-116. <br /> 2006 the City was awarded two grants, $2.2 million from the State of Minnesota and $700,000 <br /> from the Metropolitan Council <br /> Motion by Councilmember Hoffman, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to <br /> To adopt the attached resolution for the following. 1) Accepting the bids, 2) Awarding a contract <br /> for Project 07-12, Northwest Quadrant Phase 2 Demolition, Soil. Correction and Environmental <br /> Remediation improvements to the low bidder, Belair Excavating, in the amount of $1,723,309.10, <br /> and 3) Authorizing payment for reimbursement in the amount of $51,902 for environmental work <br /> incurred on the west side of old Highway 8 on City Project 07-03. <br /> <br /> • 4 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br /> Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates: <br /> Dean Lotter reported he has met with newly elected Councilmember David Phillips. Reporm Amts and <br /> <br /> Councilmember Bauman <br /> Councilmember Bauman reported the topics at the upcoming Public safety commission meeting <br /> on Wednesday November 28"' will be a request for a stop sign at 17d' St NW and 23rd Ave. NW. <br /> The current CERT class has completed three of the seven classes. The next session will begin in <br /> early 2008. November 12-16 was reported as winter awareness week <br /> Donations are currently being accepted for the Santa Cop program; in 2006 forty nine families <br /> were served <br /> Congratulations were extended to elected officials, and rumors were put to rest related to <br /> Councilmember Bauman's involvement with the recent candidates. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Doffing <br /> Councilmember Doffing requested an update on the wireless tower in the Northwest Quadrant <br /> Mr. Lotter replied he will follow up with her on that request <br /> Councilmernber Burg <br /> Gratitude was extended to the community for voter turnout <br /> The Parks, Recreation and Environmental commission met, and he trails committee, while <br /> officially ceasing will continue to meet to see that trails are continuous. <br />
