-4 - There was vandalism at Totem Park over the weekend. Public Safety and Crime Watch are working with the community because the entire neighborhood was hit with graffiti. New Tobacco Free cards are available. Director Breuer also mentioned that the Steering Committee (for NWQ) will be meeting on November 26th, 4:00 p.m. at the Family Service Center. Following the meeting we will have a public open house at 6.30 p.m. The Commission members are invited to attend. The public is also invited to attend. There will be a second open house at a later time. Prior to the second open house information will be available on our web page for everyone to view. There is still a need for a representative from an athletic association for the Steering Committee. If anyone is interested, contact Sandy Breuer. Town Hall meeting this year is Thursday, December 6th, held at the Family Service Center, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Commission members are encouraged to come. The Parks and Recreation Department will.be talking about trails. Director Breuer talked about upcoming meetings. The next Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission meeting is December 5th. Last year the December meeting was. canceled. The January meeting is scheduled for January 2"d. The Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission will be meeting with the Planning Commission for a joint is meeting on Tuesday, January ,15th, 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Boonestro will come in and present the Northwest Quadrant park planning concept drawings to both commissions. The Commission felt, that if a meeting would be canceled, it would make most sense to cancel the January 2nd meeting and attend the January 15th meeting with the Planning Commission. Director Breuer stated she will know 2 weeks prior to the December meeting if there will be enough information for the December agenda. She will consult with Chair Frischman and inform the Commission approximately two weeks prior to December 51h. The Commission was asked to keep the December 5th and January 2"d meetings on their calendars for now. If there was not a January 2nd meeting, Director Breuer did want the Commission to be aware that they may have to separate from the Planning Commission after the January 15th meeting. The Planning Commission could do their business in the Council Chambers and we could go to the room across the hall to conduct our necessary business. It may be a longer meeting on the 15th but there would not be two January meetings. Commissioner Meyer wanted to inform seniors of all the activities available to them in New Brighton. The Winter/Spring newsletter just went out. Check out the many opportunities for seniors in the Lifelong Recreation section. VIII.
