(90) working days per injury, not charged to the employee's vacation, sick leave or other <br />accumulated paid benefits. Employees drawing Workers' Compensation benefits will not receive <br />supplementary Injury On Duty pay or sick leave pay which provides for more after-tax take- <br />home pay than the employee made while working. <br />ARTICLE XX- LONGEVITY <br />20.1 Employees promoted to the title of Sergeant before December 31, 1995, will continue to <br />participate in the longevity program as described in Section 20.3, unless they choose to <br />enroll in the optional pay schedule outlined in ARTICLE XXI. Employees who enroll in <br />the ARTICLE XXI optional pay schedule may not return to longevity program. <br />20.2 Employees promoted to the title of Sergeant after December 31, 1995, will participate in <br />the ARTICLE XXI optional pay schedule unless they are participating in the longevity <br />program as of September 13, 1995, and choose to continue that participation. <br />20.3 Employees participating in the longevity program shall receive a salary increase as <br />follows: <br />A. After four (4) years of continuous employment each employee shall be paid three <br />percent (3%) over the employee's base rate. <br />B. After eight (8) years of continuous employment each employee shall be paid five <br />percent (5%) over the employee's base rate. <br />C. After twelve (12) years of continuous employment each employee shall be paid <br />seven percent (7%) over the employee's base rate. <br />D. After sixteen (16) years of continuous employment each employee shall be paid nine <br />percent (9%) over the employee's base rate. <br />ARTICLE XXI - OPTIONAL PAY SCHEDULE <br />21.1 Education Pay Incentive: Sergeants who possess a 4 year bachelor's degree will receive <br />an additional 5 % above the Sergeant base rate. Sergeants who possess a Masters degree <br />will receive an additional 7% above the Sergeant base rate. <br />12 <br />
