encouraging Canadian National to use its yard, which would eliminate some of the road blocking <br />that occurs. <br />Town Hall Meeting <br />Lotter reported that the next Town Hall Meeting would be held on April 26t" and would cover <br />the Northwest Quadrant. He added that questions would be answered that were asked at the <br />neighborhood meetings. An example of one of the questions is: "If there is a delay of five years <br />in the development, what would the cost be for the citizens of New Brighton?" Lotter stated that <br />if there is no development when the bond payments come due in 2015, the cost per household <br />would be roughly S300.00. <br />Miscellaneous <br />Sculthorp asked whether the hotel was still proceeding at the corner of Highway 96 and Old <br />Highway 8. Black replied that it is; construction is expected to start this spring. Harmon asked <br />whether Kraus -Anderson has announced any retail tenants at Brighton Village. Fernelius replied <br />that staff has been told a Subway store would be in the retail center. <br />Black announced that the two post office development projects would start as soon as the frost is <br />out. There is a question whether the USPS would allow the developer to complete the tenant <br />improvements or if the Postal Service would hire its own contractors. If the USPS completes the <br />tenant improvements, the process would take longer. <br />• Kauthold asked whether the financial information that the NWQ Task Force receives will be <br />available to the public. Lotter replied that the information from the task force will be placed on <br />the City's website after it is presented to the Council. <br />11 <br />Sculthorp asked whether the cell tower on the NWQ had found a new location. Black replied <br />that both the City and the carrier have determined that there is not a suitable location in the <br />Northwest Quadrant. The City Planner has suggested several locations that may work, and the <br />company is investigating them. <br />Harmon stated that she is upset that there has not been a statement from the Council Member <br />Phillips or the Council regarding his arrest. She would like to have a statement from the Council <br />indicating whether his actions were right or wrong. Several commissioners agreed with her <br />statements. Lotter noted that the Council is currently working on a Code of Conduct, which <br />would be presented at the end of April, and would address certain future incidents. <br />Adjournment <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 a.m. <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
