. Department Reports <br />Human Rights <br />• <br />Deputy Director Ellickson reported there was one incident on the 1500 block of 28th Avenue <br />NW. An officer will follow-up with the victim to see if any other action is necessary. <br />Allina Medical <br />No report. <br />Volunteers in Public Safety (VIES) <br />o The VIPS had their monthly meeting last night. Mr. Joe Hatch, Code Enforcement, attended <br />their meeting to inform them about what issues he handles and to answer any questions. <br />o Graffiti patrol has remained active; especially with the weather getting nicer. <br />o VIPS attended the VOAD training. <br />n VIPS participated at the St. John's Safety Fair. <br />o CERT is starting April 17 and will run until May 29 on Thursdays. <br />o "Victims" will be needed for the final CERT exercise on May 29`h• <br />Ki The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for April26th. <br />o The Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for April 25th <br />o The next Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for May 27th at the Public Safety Center. <br />Deputy Director Ellickson noted.the shooting at the Emerald Manor Apartments on 7th Street <br />NW. The weapon was recovered that night and the suspect turned himself in later and was <br />arrested and charged with three felonies. <br />The latest reearding the Republican National Convention is our officers will only be used in <br />Council Member Gina Bauman noted the creation of a Financial Task Force. This will be a 7-9 <br />member task force made up of people from the community. Applications for this task force are <br />being accepted imol April 11th. They will probably meet twice a month at first and then move to <br />meeting once a month; this task force may continue for up to 3 years. Council Member Bauman <br />will be the Council liaison for this task force. <br />Old Business <br />NW Ouadrant Park Planning Committee <br />Commissioner Schuman noted there have not been any more meetings and no future meetings <br />• are planned. He requested this item be removed from the monthly agenda. <br />
