• Public Safety Commission <br />March 26, 2008 <br />Attending: Commissioner Kerns, Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Bredenbeck, <br />Commissioner Elwell, Commissioner Schumann, Deputy Director <br />Ellickson, Council Member Bauman, Janice Gundlach — City Planner, <br />Grant Wyffels — Director of Public Works, and Jeff Ready — Owner, <br />Hollywood Video <br />Absent: Commissioner Kelly, Commissioner Tollefson, Commissioner Woods <br />Roll Call/Call to Order <br />Commissioner Kerns called the meeting to order at 6:43 p.m. <br />February Meetina Minutes <br />e <br />The February 27, 2008 meeting minutes were reviewed. Con2missiofter Elwell made a motion to <br />accept the minutes; Commissioner Allen seconded. Motion carried: <br />Public Hearing/Presentation <br />• Traffic Review of Requested Drive Thru at 2051 Silver Lake Road (Hollywood Video) <br />Ms. Gundlach reported land use applications consisting of a special use permit and a site plan <br />review were submitted for 2051 Silver Lake Road, currently Hollywood video. At the 2/26/08 <br />Council meeting, a motion was made to send this request to the Public Safety Commission to <br />review for any traffic safety concerns. <br />The proposal is to have a drive thru lane at the south end of the building; it would be an exit only <br />lane. Alexter was received from Ramsey County Public Works stating they felt the proposed <br />chances would be an improvement to this, intersection. <br />Mr. Ready reported he is proposing this change due to Hollywood Video filing for bankruptcy. <br />He is proposing changing this building into a 3-tennant building with the south unit being a <br />coffee business. He is anticipating completing this change by September or October. <br />Supporting documentation and maps were reviewed. After discussion, Commissioner Allen <br />made a motion to accept the proposed project as no negative traffic safety impacts were <br />identified; Commissioner Elwell seconded. Motion carried. <br />Updates <br />CERT/Citizen Corps Council <br />• No report. <br />
