• Public Safety Commission March 26, 2008 Attending: Commissioner Kerns, Commissioner Allen, Commissioner Bredenbeck, Commissioner Elwell, Commissioner Schumann, Deputy Director Ellickson, Council Member Bauman, Janice Gundlach — City Planner, Grant Wyffels — Director of Public Works, and Jeff Ready — Owner, Hollywood Video Absent: Commissioner Kelly, Commissioner Tollefson, Commissioner Woods Roll Call/Call to Order Commissioner Kerns called the meeting to order at 6:43 p.m. February Meetina Minutes e The February 27, 2008 meeting minutes were reviewed. Con2missiofter Elwell made a motion to accept the minutes; Commissioner Allen seconded. Motion carried: Public Hearing/Presentation • Traffic Review of Requested Drive Thru at 2051 Silver Lake Road (Hollywood Video) Ms. Gundlach reported land use applications consisting of a special use permit and a site plan review were submitted for 2051 Silver Lake Road, currently Hollywood video. At the 2/26/08 Council meeting, a motion was made to send this request to the Public Safety Commission to review for any traffic safety concerns. The proposal is to have a drive thru lane at the south end of the building; it would be an exit only lane. Alexter was received from Ramsey County Public Works stating they felt the proposed chances would be an improvement to this, intersection. Mr. Ready reported he is proposing this change due to Hollywood Video filing for bankruptcy. He is proposing changing this building into a 3-tennant building with the south unit being a coffee business. He is anticipating completing this change by September or October. Supporting documentation and maps were reviewed. After discussion, Commissioner Allen made a motion to accept the proposed project as no negative traffic safety impacts were identified; Commissioner Elwell seconded. Motion carried.
