•governmental entities will receive reimbursement proportionate to their total share of
contributions to the event. Both the League of MN Cities and the City of St. Paul indicate that
there is no reason to believe that the security subsidy will not cover all expenses.
The City Attorney's Office for the City of New Brighton and the League of MN Cities has
reviewed the JPA. The League of MN Cities has indicated that each City must make a decision
whether or not it should enter into the JPA. Our City Attorney's Office is comfortable with the
JPA as written especially since New Brighton personnel will be working with low risk, low
profile assignments. The City of Maplewood and the City of Mounds View have already
approved this same JPA and it is anticipated that all law enforcement agencies in Ramsey
County will be asked to review and request approval for this JPA. Numerous other law
enforcement agencies to include Federal, State, County and Local agencies will be assisting with
this event.
A memo outlining the JPA considerations from the League of MN Cities is attached as is a
Memorandum from Ms. Sarah Sonsalla from the City Attorney's Office.
• Robert MacoVson
Director of Public Safety
•
I COONCIL\R[iP0RT5VA08 blic Safay*NC dm
