June 24, 2008 Page S of S <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Park and Recreation Department was recently awarded a grant <br />from the Minnesota DNR for a local trails connection in the NWQ. A ribbon cutting ceremony was <br />held at Veteran's Park for the newly installed playground equipment. The Family Service Center will <br />be closed for annual maintenance June 30 through July 4. The Park, Recreation and Environmental <br />Commission will not meet in July; the next meeting is scheduled for August 6, 2008. <br />Councilmember Bum -Economic Development Commission <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Economic Development Commission will next meet July 1 �. <br />Councilmember Burg encouraged people to listen to the April 29P worksession and the June 1f <br />worksession, in order to gain an understanding ofthe issues. <br />Mayor Larson <br />Mayor Larson addressed a recent issue with Qwest, and reported City Staff is following up. <br />Appreciation was expressed to the Public Safety employees who responded to arucent fire in the <br />Sunnyside area.
