It was Mr. <br />Phillips understanding that in lieu of the City's financial commitments the council would forego this <br />opportunity. CouncilmemberBaiman recalled that she participated her first yea as a councilmenber, <br />and thought councilmembe Phillips would be the logical delegate. Announcements and Updates: <br />Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported the Met Council has recommended approval the City's grant request for <br />$1.4 million to be used in the Northwest Quadrant An article in a recent "Minneapolis, St Paul' <br />magazine was shared, highlighting New Brighton as a favorable community. <br />Councilmember DotrmL-Public Safety Commission <br />Councilmember Doffing reported it would have been he preference to wait until a scheduled team <br />building meeting to discuss some ongoing contentious discussions. Several members of the Public <br />Safety Department participated in the Special Olympics torch inn, along with many participating in <br />Grandma's Marathon in Duluth The Public Safety Commission will next meet June 25 at the Public <br />Safety Center. National Night Out is scheduled for August 5, 2008. <br />Councilmember Phillips -Planning Commission <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the Planning Commission will next meet July 15; a Public Hearing i <br />planned for the installation of a T -Mobile tower at Ridder Oaks Park. <br />7.
