<br />Rl;SOLUTION DEF::(NING THE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS, OF THE, ADVISORY
<br />PLANNING COMMISSION

<br />" WHEREAS'the Village Council of New Brighton 'has recently
<br />'restructured and rechartered 'the Advisory Planning Commission by
<br />'amending Section 24S of the Village Code, and
<br />
<br />" WHEREAS Section 245 as amended provides,for the general
<br />structure; 'organizatiori .and duties of the Planning Commission, and
<br />
<br />" ~REAS it was the intention of the Council in amending
<br />,S,ection 245'that more detailed and specific direction would be
<br />,later given to the Planning Commission by means of a,resolution,
<br />and
<br />
<br />,WBE~S it is, the desire of the Council to provide more
<br />,detailed and specific direction to the Planning Commission at this'
<br />

<br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council ,of the village

<br />1. All members of the Planning Commission are expected to

<br />special meetings:

<br />2. It,is desired that citizens appointed to the Board of
<br />Planning, through self-study and/or formal course work,
<br />and. early ln their terms will become thoroughly familiar
<br />with established planning procedures, methods techniques
<br />and terminology. Additionally, such'appointees should
<br />immediately upon appointment become familiar wi th existir~g
<br />historic .'and valid plannin.g documents for New Brighton,
<br />the Metro area and such areas as may be pertinent:

<br />3. It, is, desired that citizens appointed to the Board of
<br />Review, through self-study and immediately after
<br />appointment ~~come familiar with all sections of the
<br />New Brighton Zoning Code~
<br />
<br />4.. In discharging its charter,. the Village Council desires
<br />. ,
<br />that the Board of Planning develop, ,review and make
<br />reco~mendations for changes to" the Comprehensive ;plan
<br />for the Village of NeW Brighton;
<br />
<br />5.. It isthe,Councit's intent to delay formal adopting
<br />action on the Comprehensive Plan until such time as all
<br />the basic elements of' that', plan have been developed,
<br />reviewed b~ the Metro Council and subsequently .forwarded '
<br />to the Coutpil for review and action~ Basic elements of
<br />the plan shall include.
