The current sources and uses model for this project has a place holder of $8.65 <br />million for budgeting purposes. As this project is bid, a more refined cost estimate will be provided to <br />the Council for consideration. <br />Explanation: <br />The proposed schedule is as follows: <br />Advertise for Bids: August 4, 2008 <br />Open Bids: August 28, 2008 <br />Award Contract: September 9, 2008 <br />Start Construction: September 29, 2008 <br />Construction Complete: November 1, 2009 <br />Originally, this project was scheduled to complete remediation necessary on Block A to allow for the <br />proposed hotel development to break ground this October. However, it is the understanding of staff the <br />hotel, if approved, would break ground in the spring of 2009. Therefore, this project will complete <br />remediation necessary on Block A this fall to allow for hotel construction in the spring. <br />Costs and Funding: Before the project is awarded to a contractor, City staff will present a detailed <br />financing strategy for this project. Staff anticipates this project will be funded from a variety of funding <br />sources including Met Council and DEED grants, pooled tax increment from 9, 20, and 26, and the <br />Municipal Development Fund. <br />Grant .
