Page 5 — December 12, 2006 New Brighton Council Minutes <br />performance pay plan with extra vacation days, and removing $100,000 from the Financial <br />toftware replacement. <br />tion by Mayor Larson, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to offer vacation days <br />in lieu of performance pay to exempt employees. <br />4 Ayes - 1 Nay, Motion Carried <br />Ayes: Mayor Larson, Councilmembers Bauman, Burg and Doffing. <br />Nays: Councilmember Hoffman. <br />The second item discussed was the transfer of $100,000 allocated for a financial software <br />program from the Information Technology Fund to the General Fund budget. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doffing, seconded by Councilmember Burg to transfer of <br />$100,000 allocated for a financial software program from the Information Technology <br />fund to the General Fund budget. <br />9 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Director Maiers calculated the levy as being reduced by $135,000, resulting in a final tax <br />levy for 2007 as $6,973,5000. <br />Rick Moses, a resident of New Brighton expressed his appreciation to the Council for <br />making the additional reductions. <br />Bob Benke, a resident of New Brighton expressed his disagreement with the action taken <br />pertaining to the performance pay plan, describing the action as a "bad mistake." <br />Leon Kline, a resident of New Brighton stated that it is his opinion the City needs to reduce <br />staff in order to reduce taxes. <br />Councilmember Bauman stated that while these decisions are difficult, she is looking out for <br />the residents of the community. <br />Councilmember Hoffinan stated she was not in support for the reduction of performance <br />pay, nor is it her feeling that the City is over staffed. <br />Director Maiers clarified the adjustments made: <br />2007 Property Tax Levy should be $6,973,500 <br />Final 2007 Budget amended as follows: <br />Information and Technology will be $650,800 <br />General fund will be reduced by $35,000 <br />
