Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Frischman. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: Commissioners Budzynski, Frischman, Heinrich, Meyer, Norton, Samuelson, <br />Trevorrow and Council Liaison Gina Bauman <br />Members absent: Commissioner Harreld <br />III. Minutes of MAY 7, 2008 <br />MOTION BY BUDZYNSKI, SECONDED BY HEINRICH, TO APPROVE THE MAY 7, 2008 <br />MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report — Council Member Gina Bauman <br />Council member Bauman stated there were 4 proposals for the Northwest <br />Quadrant one was rental housing/apartments, one houses/townhome, one was <br />• senior assistant living and memory care and nursing home facility. We will <br />continue to look at opportunities. The Financial Task Force is in place now. They <br />are looking at the whole project and wondering if they should stick to the plan or <br />put a new face on the Northwest Quadrant. We are trying to cleanup the east side. <br />Cost is about 8 million. Hotel on east side is still being worked on. <br />Bauman said the Extended Stay Hotel is still in the plan near Hwy 96. There is <br />also the 4 or 5 star hotel planned in the Northwest Quadrant with a restaurant <br />equal to the hotel in size. It is planned just south of the Post Office. <br />There was discussion and concern expressed by Parks, Recreation and <br />Environmental Commission members about rental property going in the <br />Northwest Quadrant. <br />Council member Bauman said she would like to see that the community could <br />utilize it, enjoy it, or at least agree with what goes in there and that it would <br />enhance the community. Bauman said she welcomes input and ideas related to <br />the Northwest Quadrant. She believes it is important to engage the community. <br />Bauman stated the Financial Task Force focus will be on any new development. <br />The Financial Task Force will be a group that looks at who will enhance New <br />Brighton and give the most value back to the City. <br />• Bauman said the annex to the Post Office is being built right now and that the <br />retail part of it is moving as fast as it can. <br />
