There is a weak point fifty percent down the tower <br />and if it should fall it would fold at that point first. The Commissioners asked staff if a <br />letter of certification for the fall zone would be required. MOTION APPROVED. <br />Public Hearing: SP2008-013 Special Use Permit to allow erection of a 125' cell tower <br />at 1565 1" Avenue NW <br />The applicant is requesting consideration of a Special Use Permit to allow construction of <br />a 125' cellular tower in the rear yard of the property located at 1565 1" Avenue NW, <br />known as the Mission Foods property. In accordance with Section 4-600 of the Zoning <br />Code, all telecommunication towers/antenna are specially permitted uses in all districts. <br />In addition, a 10' lightning rod will be constructed at the top of the tower for a combined <br />height of 135'. A fenced -in equipment shelter will be built at grade and the total height <br />of the tower will be such that two additional users could be accommodated. <br />The applicant has been working with Community Development staff for several months <br />concerning a possible site to accommodate this tower. This request would accommodate <br />relocation of the existing tower within the Northwest Quadrant. According to AT&T, <br />this is the only site available that meets the company's needs for the existing tower. <br />0 Motion by Zisla, second by Howard to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br />
