4 Ayes, l Nays; Motion Carried <br />Ayes: Mayor Larson, Council members Doffing, Burg and Phillips <br />Nays: Councihnember Bauman <br />4. Consideration of Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for Project <br />07-5, NWQ Old Miller Dump Closure Plan. Report No. 08-259. <br />Resolution No. 08-082. <br />Director of Public Works Grant Wyffels reported the bids for the project were veryiavorable. <br />There were 7 bids submitted, the lowest bid was from Veit & Company, Inca There was discussion <br />regarding lowering the elevation of the dump site, in order to create more future potential development <br />area. Councilmember Burg asked how much development area could be created. Councilmember <br />Phillips estimated over an acre. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Doffing to adopt the attached <br />resolution for accepting the bids and awarding a contract for Project 07-5, Northwest Quadrant <br />Old Miller Dump Closure, to the low bidder, Veit and Company, Inc., in the amount of <br />$4,552,943.25, with two conditions: <br />1. That the City Attorney approves the agreement for construction over the pipeline. <br />2. Directing staff to limit the placement of the dump maternal to a fill elevation of 894 in parcel <br />. B, which will raise the contract price, approximately 560,000.000. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays; Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates: <br />Assistant to the City Manager — Schawn Johnson <br />Mr. Johnson reported the assessed value from both API and Ttansoma buildings were substantially <br />higher then originally anticipated. <br />Council Member Mary Burg — Economic Development Commission <br />Councilmember Burg attended the Economic Development Commission meeting September 2`a. It <br />was recommended that the Northwest Quadrant Financial Task Force share the results of the market <br />study with the EDC. A resident living near F ighview Middle School has reported motorist failing to <br />stop a at a nearby crosswalk. The Primary Election will be September 9'". It was announced that the <br />City will be holding its fall clean-up day on September 13'x'. <br />Council Member David Phillips - Planninia Commission <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for September <br />le. <br />0 <br />4.
