The New Brighton Historical Society will be hosting its 120' armual "Harvest Dinner" on <br />October 12°i at 1:00. <br />Council Member David Phillips - Planning Commission <br />Councilmember Phillips was out of town during the recent Planning Commission meeting; <br />Councilmember Bauman attended in his absence. The next meeting is scheduled for October 10. <br />Harvard University has taken notice ofthe Council's recent action altering the City's eminent domain <br />ordinance. <br />Camcil Member Sharon Doffm , - Public Safety Commission <br />Councilmember Doffing attended the recent Planning Commission meeting, and reported the <br />commission suggested creating an overlay district allowing for outdoor seating and patios, in order to <br />provide consistency throughout the City. <br />The next Public Safety Commission meeting is scheduled for September 24", at 6:30 pm. Fine <br />Marshall Kip LaMotte will discuss Fire Investigation. There was an increase in thefts reported in the <br />vicinity of the 500 block of 11 °i Ave; residents were reminded to be diligent about locking their garage <br />doors and service doors. Catalytic converter thefts throughout the City have been increasing. <br />Many Pubic Safety Employees will be participating in a marathon October 50i. <br />Council Member Gina Bauman — Parks Recreation and Environmental Comnussion <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Northwest Quadrant Financial Task Force has requested one of <br />their two monthly meetings be held in the conference room instead of being televised from Council <br />Chambers in order to allow a more "hands-on" working environment. The Planning Commission <br />meeting was attended, the New Brighton Eagles is requesting patio seating on the west side of the <br />building. Also Timber craft has requested an office building on Palmer Drive; however they are not <br />able to meet all setback requirements. Councilmember Bauman requested the Council look closely at <br />city ordinances, which may be making it difficult for businesses to move into or modify their <br />buildings. <br />MaVor Larson <br />Mayor Larson reported the Kitchen Kut Ups band was involved in a car accident, and best wishes <br />were sent to those involved. <br />Adiournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br />5 Ayes -0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:33 PM <br />Steve Larson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A Maieis, Director of Finance and Support Services <br />Adiournment <br />Meeting adjourned at <br />7:33 pm. <br />
