The applicant requested such extension on October 30th and the Council is scheduled to take action on the request November 10th, both dates being prior to November 13th. Such extensions, while not frequently requested, are nearly always approved with the most recent extension approval being for the retail operations of the post office at Main Street Village. Should the Council wish to deny the extension request, the applicant would have until November 13th to exercise the original approval by obtaining a building permit. The applicants request for an extension is attached. The Special Use Permits and Site Plan approvals requested for extension involved several exterior improvements to the property located at 2051 Silver Lake Road. The improvements included installation of a drive-thru window at the south end of the building and construction of the associated drive-thru lane in an area currently being used for surface parking. Also included in the improvements is the closure of the existing full access point at Rice Creek Road, installation of a one way access further east onto Rice Creek Road, and improvements to the existing fagade to accommodate three possible tenants and a more prominent entrance. Resolution 08-049 adopted on May 13, 2008 approved the following: Site Plan — to permit issuance of a building permit for various exterior improvements to a commercial property. Special Use Permit — to allow installation of a drive-thru. Special use Permit — to allow conversion of an existing surface parking area at a 15' setback to Rice Creek Road to be converted to a drive-thru lane with an 18' setback to Rice Creek Road.
