requests on May 13, 2008. The six month approval would then expire on November 13, 2008. The <br />applicant requested such extension on October 30th and the Council is scheduled to take action on the <br />request November 10th, both dates being prior to November 13th. Such extensions, while not frequently <br />requested, are nearly always approved with the most recent extension approval being for the retail <br />operations of the post office at Main Street Village. Should the Council wish to deny the extension <br />request, the applicant would have until November 13th to exercise the original approval by obtaining a <br />building permit. The applicants request for an extension is attached. <br />The Special Use Permits and Site Plan approvals requested for extension involved several exterior <br />improvements to the property located at 2051 Silver Lake Road. The improvements included <br />installation of a drive-thru window at the south end of the building and construction of the associated <br />drive-thru lane in an area currently being used for surface parking. Also included in the improvements <br />is the closure of the existing full access point at Rice Creek Road, installation of a one way access <br />further east onto Rice Creek Road, and improvements to the existing fagade to accommodate three <br />possible tenants and a more prominent entrance. Resolution 08-049 adopted on May 13, 2008 approved <br />the following: <br />Site Plan — to permit issuance of a building permit for various exterior improvements to a <br />commercial property. <br />Special Use Permit — to allow installation of a drive-thru. <br />Special use Permit — to allow conversion of an existing surface parking area at a 15' setback to Rice <br />Creek Road to be converted to a drive-thru lane with an 18' setback to Rice Creek Road. <br />Staff has attached the approved Site Plan for reference.
