0 No report. <br />Volunteers in Public Safety (YIPS) <br />Commissioner Woods noted the following items regarding VIPS: <br />• 21 VIPS attended their monthly meeting. <br />o VIPS received a thank you from the Red Cross for their help at the recent blood drive; <br />35 pints of blood were collected. Four more blood drives are scheduled. <br />o VIPS will do the Fire Department monthly meeting dinner in October and in January. <br />o There is a new CERT class starting on October 9th. <br />o VIPS member Bob Parrott continues to be very active promoting Project Lifesaver. <br />He has recently been working with four other counties to try an et more <br />participation. <br />Director �b'9 oted ftq avVards will be presented at the October 14th Council <br />meeting to the cid ehs, police and fire personnel who all assisted at the handicapped van <br />fire. F <br />On October 5th, ze members of Public Safety will be running the Twin Cities marathon. <br />Director Jacobson and Officer Tony Paetznick met today with Mr. Tony Beasley, Silver <br />Lakes Flats. Mr. Beasley stated they have removed a lot of problem tenants from a <br />particular building; over the last two weeks, there has only been one provisional call to <br />this building. The 2090 building is now done and work continues on the remaining <br />buildings. <br />is New Business <br />
