Resolution No. 08-116. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips. seconded by Councilmember Doffing to waive the reading <br />and adopt the Resolution adopting The Final Tax Levy For taxes payable In 2009 For Lake <br />Diane Storm Sewer Improvement Taxing District. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />5. Authorization to Purchase Public Safety Vehicles. Report No. 08-340. <br />Deputy Director Ellickson explained 6 vehicles are scheduled for replacement. Bids were received <br />from various vendors, with the award going to Car/Truck City of Pine City. We have done business <br />with this dealership in the past per state bid and have excellent results. The City would be purchasing <br />one 2009 Dodge Charger, two 2009 Chevrolet Tahoes, and three Crown Victorias. The New Brighton <br />Fleet Plan has fielding of $196,000.00 for these purchases. The exact cost will be $134,679.08. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips. seconded by Councilmember Doffing to approve the <br />purchase of public safety vehicles. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />6. Authorization to Purchase Fire Truck. Report No. 08-341. <br />Officer Tony Paetzrtick reported that one bidder responded; General Safety Fire Apparatus, in the <br />amount of $488,223.00. General has manufactured 10 fire trucks for New Brighton, <br />including three of our current frontline apparatus. The Comparable prices for similar fire <br />trucks produced by this and other manufacturers range from $459,000 to $550,000. <br />Payment for the apparatus will occur in two installments: $184,163 upon receipt of the <br />chassis (anticipated 6-7 months) and $276,094 upon final delivery of the product which is <br />to occur within 365 days of the executed contract. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg. seconded by Councilmember Doffing to authorize the City <br />Manager to enter into a contract with General Safety Fire Apparatus to purchase a <br />new Rescue Pumper in the amount of $488,223.00. <br />4.
