Report No. 08-342. <br />Resolution No. 08-117. *Moved to Consent Agenda <br />8. Consideration of extending Right of Entry Agreement for MT Properties until <br />February 1, 2009. <br />Director of Community Development Grant Femelius explained a final purchase and exchange <br />agreement has not been reached yet, it is planned to be brought before the council January 13, 2009. An <br />interim Right of Entry Agreement allowing the railroad to relocate the Butchers Spur to the exchange <br />parcel until December 312008 was tied into the purchase and exchange agreement. Because the <br />purchase and exchange agreement is not complete, it is necessary to extend the Right of Entry <br />Agreement through February 12009. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doffing seconded by Councilmember Philfips to allow MT <br />Properties to extend their Right Of Entry Agreement through February 1, 2009. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />• Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates: <br />City Manager -Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported negotiations are ongoing with the Teamsters union. Also reported was <br />the fact that financial challenges will occur because of the substantial State Budget deficit. Any <br />necessary budget amendments would be brought before the council in early 2009. Holiday wishes <br />were extended to all. <br />Council Member Mary Burg — Economic Development Commission_ <br />The EDC met December 2' ; it was decided to conduct a business survey to selected area businesses. <br />Holiday wishes were extended to all. <br />Council Member David Phillips - Planning Commission <br />Councilme tuber Phillips reported there was a special Planning Commission meeting on December 2°d, <br />and no regular meeting is scheduled for December 19d'. Holiday wishes were extended to all. <br />Council Member Sharon. Doffing - Public Safety Commission <br />Councilmember Doffing reported that at the recent Public Safety commission meeting Sergeant Nelson <br />and Officer Hamdorf reported on the DUI arrests occurring in the City. Sergeant Masterman and <br />Officer Synpniewski represented New Brighton in a recent joint effort with Ramsey County in a traffic <br />detail project, resulting in 21 DUI arrests, 6 drug arrests, and 1 weapon recovery. Santa Cop donations <br />were acknowledged, along with a $2,500 donation received from Business Data. Services. Holiday <br />wishes were extended to all, it was reported that a discussion occurred earlier requesting Christmas <br />lights be put up through the downtown area. <br />7.
