IbOf <br />NM <br />BRKATfON <br />the city that works for you <br />Report Number <br />Agenda Section <br />Council Meeting Dote <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />09-022 <br />VI -19 <br />January 13, 2009 <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF FINAL PAYMENT FOR PROJECT 06-1, <br />NWQ - PHASE I STREETS AND UTILITIES <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this reUort Comments attached <br />Recommendation: To approve Final NyAent for Project 06-1, NWQ - Phase I Streets and Utilities, in <br />the amount of $51,608.87 to Northdale Construction Company. <br />Legislative History: The City Council ordered this project on March 28, 2006, and awarded a <br />construction contract to Northdale Construction Co. Inc. in the amount of $1,453,125.19. <br />Financial Impact: The original contract amount was $1,453,125.19 with the final contract amount <br />being $1,164,070.04. Please see attached payment breakdown for details. <br />is Explanation: This project consisted of the installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, and <br />streets and street lighting in Phase I of the Northwest Quadrant redevelopment project. Items such as the <br />final layer of bituminous, sidewalks, and irrigation and streetscaping that were included in the original <br />contract have been eliminated due to land development changes. The Contractor had agreed to put the <br />project on hold hoping to complete the work but has now requested the project be closed out so he can <br />receive the last of the money owed him. When new development plans dictate, the remaining work will <br />be redesigned and completed to suit the need. <br />The Contractor has completed all work requested of him at this time. <br />Costs and Funding: All costs for this project will be paid for from land sale proceeds and grant money. <br />— 74�jll--- - <br />Grant M.
