<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />CIty of New Brighton <br />January 11, 1983 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to award <br />comprehensive insurance coverage to Home Insurance Company, <br />Incorporated for the period of January 1 - December 31. <br />1983 in the amount of $94,435.00 and to award umbrella <br />coverage to the Mission National Insurance Company <br />in the amount of $1.000.000 for the premium of $2.850.00, <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Motion Carried <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works reviewed the staff report <br />noting that Projects #82-6 and #82-10 were complete, <br />That they have been reviewed by the City Engineering <br />Department and were found to be acceDtable. Further <br />the Director of Public Works noted that the projects <br />had been completed at a cost much below estimated <br />contract price. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke. seconded by Schmidt to accept the work <br />authorizing final payment to Northwest Asphalt Incorporated <br />in the amount of $12,474.83 for completion of work <br />performed on Projects #82-6 and #82-10. <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke wished to express his appreciation to <br />City staff for their work on Projects #82-6 and #82-10. <br />Councilmember Benke noted that the projects had been <br />successfully completed and at a much lower cost than had <br />been estimated. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus. seconded by Blomquist to approve the <br />plans and specifications for the iron removal plants for <br />City Wells #10 and #11 and authorize advertisement for <br />bids. Bids to be opened on February 16. 1983 and awarded <br />at the February 22. 1983 Council meeting. <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke suggested that the next City Hall <br />Newsletter contain a water report update. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works reviewed the staff report <br />noting that it was felt that the pump for well #9 <br />should be extended 50 feet to provide a sufficient <br />factor of safety for heavy summer useage. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke asked if the extension would require <br />any further drilling of the well. <br /> <br />The Public Works Director stated that the extension of <br />Well #9 would not require any further drilling but <br />merely the extension of the pump itself. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke asked the City Attorney if the law <br />required there be more than one quote obtained for this <br />particular project. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />Final Payment <br />Projects #82-6 & <br />#82-10 <br />Report No. 83-6 <br /> <br />Plans And <br />Specifications <br />Iron Removal Plan <br />Wells #10 & #11 <br />Report No. 83-7 <br /> <br />Extension Of Pump <br />Well #9 <br />Report #83-8 <br />
