<br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />P'!' <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof a special meeting of the New Brighton <br />City Council was held Thursday, November 5, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. <br />in the municipal building, 803 5th Avenue NW, New Brighton, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers Bob Benke, <br />Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Steve Schmidt <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: James W. Fornell, City Manager <br /> <br />The City Manager briefed the Council on the necessary action <br />to comply with revenue sharing regulations. A discussion <br />ensued about the letter of November 4, 1981 from the city <br />auditor regarding compliance with the 1980 revenue sharing <br />budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Tautages was present from DeLaHunt-Voto and Company, <br />the City auditor, to explain necessary accounting transfers <br />and to propose a new method of accounting for revenue sharing <br />moni~s in the budget. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />No one was present to speak in regard to use of general revenue <br />sharing funds. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to close the general revenue <br />sharing hearing. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />PROVIDING FOR BUDGET TRANSFERS. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #2524 <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to appropriate <br />$200,000 of general revenue sharing money from the <br />General Revenue Sharing fund to the General Fund <br />{Police salaries} and to transfer out $200,000 from <br />the General Fund to a capital projects account. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />~'IO\ <br /> <br />The city Manager explained his memo of November 3, 1981 <br />regarding suggested action on the 1982 audget and <br />1982 Capital Improvements Projects and Equipment Purchases. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Senden wanted to be sure that the City would <br />cover expenses for inspection programs and also <br />urged the City Council to lobby with Ramsey County <br />in regard to the street sweeping program. <br /> <br />!/!!: <br />
