<br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />March 9, 1982 <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Quayle, lS32 2nd Street NW, representing <br />St. John's Church, spoke in favor of the proposed <br />sidewalk improvement and urged Council approval. <br /> <br />No one else present at the public hearing spoke <br />regarding the proposed sidewalk improvement project. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Blomquist to close <br />the hearing. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to direct <br />preparation of plans and specifications for <br />Improvement Project #82-S. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer~reviewed the proposed water <br />connection project to the Columbia Heights <br />water system and the project costs. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Quayle, lS32 2nd Street NW, questioned <br />whether Columbia Heights would be in a position <br />to withhold water from the City of New Brighton <br />should there be a big demand for water in <br />Columbia Heights this summer due to hot weather. <br /> <br />The City Engineer replied that the capacity <br />of Columbia Heights is such that sufficient <br />water and pressure for New Brighton should not <br />be a probleM. <br /> <br />No one else present at the pUblic hearing spoke <br />to the proposed Columbia Heights water connection. <br /> <br />Motion by Barcus, seconded by Blomquist 'to close <br />the hearing. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to authorize <br />a connection and order materials for the connection <br />to the Columbia Heights water system. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Ron-'Nl~enaber, CIty Buildinc; Official, presented <br />a slide show on the various aspects of the <br />building inspection profession. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus read a proclamation declaring <br />the week of April 12-15, 1982 as building <br />safety week in the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />- <br />"" <br /> <br />Improvement <br />Project #82-13 <br />Report No. 82-36 <br />7:41 - 7:S0 <br /> <br />Building Safety Week <br />Proclamation <br />Report No. 82-S7 <br />
