<br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />Harch 9, 1982 <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed his report regarding <br />police service options. <br /> <br />After some discussion the City Council acted <br />in the following manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />receive the police service options study as <br />prepared by the City Manager and to direct <br />the Manager to forward a copy of the study <br />to the Ramsey County Sheriff for his review <br />and comments. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to amend <br />the main motion by placing the police service <br />options study on the March 23, 1982 Council agenda <br />for action. <br /> <br />Vote on amendment. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Vote on motion as amended. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed his report regarding <br />the police chief selection process and <br />indicated support for the use of and selection <br />of Personnel Decisions, Inc. as a consultant <br />for selection of a new police chief. <br /> <br />Mayor Barcus indicated that he was familiar <br />with Personnel Decisions Inc. and supported <br />the Hanager's recommendation. <br /> <br />Mot"ion by Blomqll, st, seconded by Benke to defer <br />action on consideration of the police chief <br />selection process until after the March 23, 1982 <br />City Council meeting. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist noted that both <br />Basic Industries and Micom Corporation <br />sponsor softball teams and for that reason <br />use of their donation for bleachers may <br />be appropriate. Councilmember Blomquist <br />also stated that he felt the equipment purchased <br />with the donation should show the name of the <br />donor. <br /> <br />councilmember Janecek indicated she agreed that <br />a plaque should be a part of the e0uipment purchased. <br />Councilmember Janecek further indicated that <br />she felt that a sun shelter or picnic shelter <br />may be a goud item for which to use the donated funds. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />Police Service <br />Option Study <br />Report No. 82-58 <br /> <br />Police Chief Selection <br />Process <br />Report No. 82-59 <br /> <br />Park Donation Gifts <br />Report No. 82-49 <br />
