Report No. 82-91 <br /> <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Mr. Wayne Burggraaff, Evenson-Dodge, Inc., was <br />present to discuss the bid opening for the <br />sale of $1,990,000 in general obligation <br />improvement bonds and the sale of $425,000 <br />in general obligation water revenue bonds. <br /> <br />Award Sale of G.O. <br />Improvement Bonds <br />Award Sale of Water <br />Revenue Bonds <br />RESOLUTION #2587 <br />RESOLUTION #2588 <br /> <br />Mr. Burggraaff stated that the bids received <br />were very close and apparently very good as <br />compared to recent bond sales. Mr. Burggraaff <br />noted that the low bid for the $1,990,000 of <br />general obligation improvement bonds was for <br />an interest rate of 11.00813% and that the <br />interest rate for the water revenue bonds was <br />10.3641%. Mr. Burggraaff finally recommended <br />that the resolutions regarding the awarding of <br />the sale be approved. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AWARDING <br />SALE OF $1,990,000 GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF <br />1982, FIXING THE FORM AND SPECIFICl\TIONS THEREOF, <br />PROVIDING FOR THEIR EXECUTION AND DELIVERY AND PROVIDING <br />FOR THEIR PAYMENT. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AWARDING SALE <br />OF $425,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION WATER REVENUE BONDS <br />OF 1982, FIXING THE FOro~ AND ',tECIFICATIONS THEREOF, <br />PROVIDING FOR THEIR EXECUTION AND DELIVERY AND CREATING <br />A FUND FOR THEIR PAYMENT. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed his staff report <br />noting that he was recommending the firm <br />of LeFevere, Lefler, Kennedy, O'Brien and <br />Drawz for City Attorney with the exceptions <br />noted regarding prosectuion, bond counsel, <br />and development district counsel. The <br />Ci ty Manager introduced Mr. Charles Lelt:vere, <br />head of LeFevere, Lefler, Kennedy, O'Brien <br />and Drawz. <br /> <br />Selection of <br />City Attorney <br />Report No. 82-103 <br /> <br />Mr. Charles LeFevere reviewed their firm's <br />background noting that their firm had a high <br />degree of specialization in municipal law and <br />that they were anxious and eager to pursue their <br />work with the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
