<br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />April 13, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Benke to select <br />as City Attorney for all City business the firm <br />of LeFevere, Lefler, Kennedy, O'Brien & Drawz <br />except for the followin~ areas: <br /> <br />1) Prosecution - Tom Hughes. <br />2) Bond Counsel - Fagre & Benson. <br />3) To formally accept the proposal of O'Connor & Hannan for <br />T.I.F. development and developer's agreement and other <br />development district related legal work. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />There was no one present who spoke to <br />the proposed ordinance concerning set-up <br />licenses. <br /> <br />Motion by Barcus, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading, hold the first reading of an ORDINANCE <br />M!ENDING SECTION 4- 8 2 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY <br />CODE CONCERNING SET-UP LICENSES. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Director of Parks & Recreation, <br />was present to discuss the bids received for the <br />purchase of a picnic shel ter for Hanson Park <br />and bleachers for Totem Pole Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to <br />authorize purchase of a picnic shelter from <br />Earl F. Anderson for $3,578 and purchase of <br />bleachers for $900. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Community Development <br />reviewed the events regarding the sale <br />of surplus City property. The Director <br />of Community Development noted that there <br />had been some contacts made by various <br />individuals and development companies <br />regarding the purchase of the single family <br />lots that had been declared surplus property. <br />The Director of Community Development noted <br />that the appraisal price for the property was <br />$11,300 per lot and that there was approximately <br />$3,170 in assessments. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke noted that the proposed purchase <br />price was approximately 10% lower than the appraised <br />valu( . <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek stated that she was concerned <br />that the sale of this lot at approximately 10% less <br />than the appraised value may set a precedent for the <br />sale of the remaining three lots. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />Set-up License <br />Report No. 82-97 <br /> <br />Picnic Shelter/ <br />Bleachers <br />Report No. 82-92 <br /> <br />Purchase Agreement <br />Residential Lot <br />Report :t-lo. 82-911 <br />
