<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />April 27, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to <br />approve LP-125 subject to the following: <br /> <br />1. That final grading and drainage plans be approved <br />by Rice Creek Watershed District and City Engineer; <br />2. That site plans be revised to include all required <br />dimensions and landscape plans; <br />3. That the applicant conform with revised site and <br />landscape plans dated and signed by the applicant <br />and City Planner. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist <br />to authorize the purchase of 400 feet of <br />4" supply line with Storz field repairable <br />couplings from Minnesota Fire Inc. in the <br />amount of $2,376.00. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to <br />call a special worksession of the City Council <br />for the purpose of reviewing the 1981 Audit <br />and Financial Management Reports with the <br />worksession being on May 19, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke discussed a proposal <br />regarding the election process in New Brighton. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to <br />direct the Citizen Study Committee to study <br />and report on the following questions regarding <br />the New Brighton election process: <br /> <br />1. How can citizens be kept better informed of <br />City business and current issues between <br />elections? <br />2. How can conflicting points of view be best <br />presented for voter consideration? <br />3. How can voter participation be increased? <br />4. Should a City election ordinance be adopted <br />that would define and prohibit unfair campaign <br />acts? <br />5. Should the election for Council be changed so <br />that candidates file for specific seats rather <br />than in a pack race? <br />6.
