<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />May 11, 1982 <br /> <br />presented the Council with a letter from an adjacent <br />neighbor indicating their support of the special use <br />permit. <br /> <br />The Mayor with the consent of the Council directed <br />receipt of a letter from Henry and Leona Elwell. <br /> <br />The Council indicated concerns regarding the use of <br />the property and its potential for creating precedence. <br />Council also indicated that they would like to see <br />a resolution drawn making findings of fact and approving <br />the special use permit, however, it was the concensus <br />that while the resolution was being drawn that the <br />Planning Commission should take another look at the <br />plans and proposal. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to direct staff <br />to prepare a resolution making findings of fact and <br />approving application for SP-lOl for consideration at <br />the next Council meeting and to refer the request to <br />the Planning Commission for their review and coroment. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke left the Council meeting because <br />of illness at 8:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to <br />approve the changes in the Joint Powers <br />Agreement for Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional <br />Park as approved by the Ramsey County Board <br />and to authorize the Mayor and Manager to <br />execute the revised agreement. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Joint Powers Agreemen <br />Long Lake/Rush Lake <br />Regional Park <br />Report No. 82-119 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to <br />authorize the purchase of the XEEP/FSMA <br />plan of a Xerox 3107 copier at a monthly <br />cost of $211.25 <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Purchase of <br />Copier <br />Report No. 82-120 <br /> <br />Stockyard Days <br />Update <br /> <br />Mr. Rick Poston, representing the New Brighton <br />Jaycees was present to discuss the progress <br />to date regarding the July 4th Stockyard Days <br />Celebration. Mr. Poston noted that the Jaycees, <br />Historical Society and Chamber of Commerce were <br />cooperating to make this a real community event. <br />Mr. Poston reviewed all of the various activities <br />that were being planned for the three day celebration <br />and what groups were involved and what committments <br />have been received. <br /> <br />No further action was taken. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
