<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />May 25, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to <br />approve the temporary beer license for the <br />New Brighton Jaycees' for the dates of <br />June 5 and 6 and to waive the license fees. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Temporary Beer <br />License - JC's <br />Report No. 82-142 <br /> <br />The Director of Community Development reviewed <br />the historical events regarding the downtown <br />redevelopment efforts of the City. <br /> <br />Downtown plans <br />Report No. 82-140 <br /> <br />Mr. Ed McCullough, McCullough and Company, <br />was present and reviewed how McCullough and <br />Company became involved with the city and <br />subsequently has made a proposal to develop <br />a high quality, full-service hotel. Mr. McCullough <br />stated that they had been working with City officials <br />for several months and that they have established <br />an excellent development team in order to bring to <br />the City the type of development that they have been <br />told the City and business community wants to see. <br />Mr. McCullough reiterated that when they first came <br />to the City they were told by the business community <br />and the Chamber of Commerce that what was wanted <br />was a quality hotel and that the business community <br />would not support anything less than that. <br /> <br />Mr. McCullough reviewed the building plans, elevations <br />and interiors, as they currently exist and indicated <br />that much work remained to be done with the City <br />Advisory Board and business community to get this <br />project started. Mr. McCullough reviewed for the <br />Council a precedence chart showing all the various <br />events and their timings that are necessary to complete <br />this project. <br /> <br />Mr. Jerry svee, construction consultant for McCullough <br />and Company, in reviewing the scheduled events noted <br />that if everything could be done in the manner proposed <br />and everything was to work favorably for everyone, it <br />would appear that the earliest possible construction <br />date would be October 28, 1982. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Casserly, City bond counsel, reviewed the <br />proposed letter agreement including the obligations <br />as discussed for the City and for McCullough and <br />company and also reviewed the various guarantees <br />that had been discussed and will be necessary to <br />protect the City's interest. Mr. Casserly finally <br />discussed the issues that were still outstanding <br />between the City, staff and McCullough and Company. <br /> <br />~r. Wayne Burggraaff and Mr. Don Wyzinski, representing <br />Evenson-Dodge and the City's fiscal consultants, were <br />present and reviewed various cash flows for the leases <br /> <br />-5- <br />
