<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />June 22, 1982 <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />approve the Comprehensive Park Plan and to <br />direct staff to incorporate the Park Plan into <br />the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke arrived at 7:42 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Rick poston, representing the New Brighton <br />Jaycees, was present to answer questions. Mr. <br />Poston reviewed some of the events and schedules <br />for the Stockyard Days Celebration. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to <br />approve the plans for the New Brighton Stockyard <br />Days Celebration for July 2-5, 1982 with City <br />assistance provided as requested with the provision <br />that the sponsoring organizations provide adequate <br />volunteers to assist City personnel. Furthe4 to <br />approve the bingo license application by the <br />New Brighton Eagles, to approve the food consession <br />licenses for the New Brighton Jaycees, 52nd District <br />DFL and the New Brighton Co-op and to waive the <br />license fee for the New Brighton Jaycees as they <br />meet the criteria of a non-profit, civic, charitable <br />organization. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Council discussed the proposed resolution <br />regarding the use of City vehicles and equipment <br />noting that the City has contributed in many <br />ways to various civic organizations and groups. <br /> <br />Councilmernber Benke stated that he could not <br />support the resolution as proposed and that <br />he felt that it would not be appropriate to use <br />City property for purposes outside of normal <br />City business. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blom~uist to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />REGARDING THE USE OF CITY EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES. <br />3 ayes - 1 naye (Benke) - motion carried <br /> <br />No one was present to speak to the issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke asked if the parking <br />available on the site would be adequate if <br />the use of the building changed from other <br />than essentially an attorney's office. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Comprehensive <br />Park Plan <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 82-110 <br /> <br />Stockyard Days <br />Celebration <br />Report No. 82-153 <br /> <br />Use of City <br />Vehicles and <br />Equipment <br />Report No. 82-152 <br />RESOLUTION #2607 <br /> <br />VN-224, LP-126 <br />Law Center <br />Report No. 82-155 <br />RESOLUTION #2608 <br />
