<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ity of New Brighton <br />September 15, 1982 <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Mr. Ken Simons, Ramsey County Parks and Open <br />Space, was present to discuss the proposed <br />easement agreement for the Ramsey/Anoka <br />County Regional Trail. Mr. Simons indicated <br />that the trail is proposed to be 8 to 12 feet <br />in width, with an asphalt surface and would <br />have a manicured shoulder for cross-country <br />skiing. Mr. Simons noted that funding for the <br />trail construction is provided from a grant from <br />the Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Regional Trail <br />Corridor <br />Report No. 82-229 <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist noted that the regional <br />trail in Anoka County, west of Stinson Boulevard, <br />was of a woodchip surface and questioned whether <br />the trail proposed in New Brighton would be of the <br />same material. <br /> <br />Mr. Simons noted that the trails were to be compatible <br />and that they had assumed that the New Brighton trail <br />would be asphalt. Mr. Simons stated that he would <br />check on the surface in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to authorize <br />the Mayor and City Manager to execute the easement agreement, <br />conditioned on City approval of final plans and specifications <br />and reserving the right for the City to install a sidewalk <br />over the easement at a later date. <br />5 ay~s - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Chief of Police reviewed the investigation <br />conducted in regard to the New Brighton Eagle's <br />request for a dance hall permit. <br /> <br />Dance Hall Permit <br />New Brighton Eagles <br />Report No. 82-230 <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Janecek to approve <br />a dance hall permit for the New Brighton Eagles <br />Aerie 37lS'provided that: <br /> <br />1) The permi t be posted in a public place in the dance hall; <br />2) A police officer assigned and is present for every public dance; <br />3) An investigation fee of $40.00 be paid; and <br />4) All statutes and ordinances regarding dance halls be <br />complied with. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to amend the <br />motion by adding a directive to City staff to review <br />the dance hall permit process in regard to City policies, <br />fees and provision for police officer attendance. <br /> <br />Vote on amendment. <br />5 ayes ~ 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Vote on main motion as amended. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />-2- <br />
