BRIGHTON
the city that works rwlr you
INTEROFFICE
MEMORANDUM
To: Janice Gundlach, City Planner
From: James Williamette, Building Official
Subject: Mission Foods Expansion, 1565 1st Avenue NW
Date: 3/12/2009
I have reviewed the proposed expansion plans and offer the following comments:
1. The building should be classified as an H-2 rather than an F-1 per the
2006 IBC.
2. If the building is being reclassified per the 2006 IBC, the rest of the
building should be brought up to 2006 IBC standards (i.e. plumbing &
mechanical).
3. An accessible route will be required to the 2nd floor mezzanine.
4. Maximum travel distance arrows should be drawn on the plans.
5. Energy calculations will be required for the entire building.
6. Equipment specifications must be provided for any equipment stored in
dust areas. Those specifications must include spark resistance.
7. Mathematical calculations for occupancy loading, restroom, building size,
area, and height must be shown on the plans.
8. All air flow calculations must be shown to meet ASHRA Standards.
Please note these are preliminary comments based on "not for construction" plan
sets. Additional comments may occur at the time of building permit submittal.
