I

(I

il

City of New Brighton
October 12, 1982

Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to
defer action on the purchase of a second
bar station until November 9, 1982.

Councilmember Benke asked what the options
would be regarding improving service
levels at Brandywine with just the
existing one station.

John Grau stated that it would be very
difficult to increase service levels
at Brandywine with just the one station
as the bar is starting to increase
its business and that weekends are operating
at close to the ultimate.

Peter Marinaro, Brandywine Liquor Manager,
stated that the trends are that Friday
and Saturday are getting quite busy
and that the addition of a second bar
station would help reduce some personnel
costs as well as greatly increase service.

Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Benke to
amend the motion by authorizing the purchase
and installation of a second bar station
at Brandywine from Monarch Food Service
in an amount of $6,013.00 subject to
approval of the Liquor Director when hired.

Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Harcus
to substitute the amended motion for the
original main motion.

Councilmember Janecek asked if the second
station would require an additional cash
register.

Peter Marinaro stated that they have two
cash registers for the existing station
but that he would recommend that the Council
purchase an additional cash register for a
cost of over $2,000.

Vote on motion to substitue.
1 aye - 4 nayes (Benke, Blomquist, Harcus, Janecek)

Motion to substitute failed.

-5-
