<br />I <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October 12, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to amend <br />the original main motion by changing the date <br />of deferral from November 9, 1982 to October <br />26, 1982. <br /> <br />Vote on amendment. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Vote on main motion as amended to defer consideration <br />of purchase of a second bar station until October 26, 1982. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist stated that he <br />wished to commend staff for their quick <br />response in seeking the Community Develop- <br />ment Block Grant under the Small Cities <br />HUD program. <br /> <br />Community Develop- <br />ment Block Grant <br />Report No. 82-253 <br />RESOLUTION #2635 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR FUNDS FROM U.S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT <br />UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />PROGRAM and to call a public hearing in <br />regard to the application for a Community <br />Development Block Grant for October 26, 1982 <br />at 7:40 p.m. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist stated that the <br />next meeting of the Ramsey County League <br />will be on Wednesday, October 20, 1982 <br />and that the topic would be recycling. <br /> <br />Ramsey County <br />League <br /> <br />Mr. Gayle Bromander, representing the Minnesota <br />Transportation Museum and New Brighton Historical <br />Society, was present to review the request and <br />plans for a railroading weekend event for <br />October 16-17, 1982. <br /> <br />Railroad Weekend <br />Report No. 82-254 <br /> <br />The City Council discussed various loading and <br />debarkation points and what City assistance <br />was necessary. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Harcus to authorize <br />the excursion train event for October 16-17, 1982 <br />as specified in the plan provided by the Minnesota <br />Transportation Museum and New Brighton Historical <br />Society subject to receipt of evidence of insurance <br />and with the loading/debarkation points to consist <br />of the first choice being the old stockyard area <br />and the second choice to be the 5th Street NW area, <br />and further to waive the fees and approve the concession <br />license application by the New Brighton Jaycees. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />-6- <br />
