<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C l ty of New Br ightOl1 <br />September 8, 1981 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to <br />continue the public hearing on VN-223 <br />until September 22, 1981 at 7:35 p.m. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Ms. Geri Evans, representing the New Brighton <br />Human Rights Commission, was present to <br />answer questions and review the Human Rights <br />Commission's recommendation. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion the Council <br />acted in the following manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />direct staff to communicate to Mrs. Laroche <br />by letter that the city Council has considered <br />the question of a public display minors law <br />and that after considering the recommendation <br />of the City's Human Rights Commission and advice <br />of the City Attorney that the Council has decided <br />to take no further action. Further, to note to <br />Mrs. Laroche that the City shares her concerns <br />and will continue to monitor the situation. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />After considerable discussion regarding the <br />proposed initiation of rezonings located <br />in Group I, Council acted in the following <br />manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />initiate the rezonings of those properties <br />zoned in conflict with the Comprehensive plan <br />located in Group I which is generally that area <br />north of 1-694 and west of Long Lake, such <br />inititation to rezone properties to the zoning <br />classification in conformance with the Comprehensive <br />plan <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to <br />waive the reading, hold the second reading, <br />adopt and order publication of AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 22, ARTICLE II OF THE NEW <br />BRIGHTON CITY CODE <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek <br />to approve the use of Serco Laboratories <br />Inc. for the City water testing program <br />at an estimated cost of $600 per month. <br />5 ayes - 0 naves - motion carried <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />Public Display <br />Minors Law <br />Report No. 81-191 <br /> <br />Council Initiated <br />Rezonings <br />Report No. 81-194 <br /> <br />Second Reading <br />Plannins Commission <br />Organization <br />Supplement to <br />Report ~o. 81-150 <br />ORDINANCE f483 <br /> <br />Water Testing Program <br />Report No. 8l-l87 <br />
