<br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 25, 1981 <br /> <br />Public Hearings <br />Mr. Harry Schlieff, applicant, 500 12th Avenue NW, <br />was present to answer questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to <br />close the hearing. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmfdt to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION MAKING <br />FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR <br />NON-CONFORMING USE VARIANCE, NC-51. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Planner reviewed the staff report <br />and staff recommendation. <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Mochinski, applicant, was present <br />to answer questions. <br /> <br />Mr. Mochinski in response to Council questions <br />stated that the outlot in the project was located <br />on the south as a result of the access restriction <br />from Innsbruck Drive. <br /> <br />Mr. Mochinski also stated that the base price of the <br />units would be $80,000 and with options available <br />it was estimated that the average price would be <br />$90,000 - $9S,OOO per unit. Mr. Mochinski also <br />stated that it was the intent that the units be <br />owner occupied. <br /> <br />The Mayor questioned the applicant as to whether <br />he had considered varying the type of units <br />rather than simply repeating the quad home <br />ten times. <br /> <br />Mr. Mochinski stated that they are marketing the <br />units as quad homes for which they feel there is <br />a market, but that they could explore the possibility <br />of varying the exterior treatment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that when the Council <br />had initially considered the consistency of this <br />proposal \<lith the Comprehensive Plan it was <br />discussed and desired that the property to the <br />south of the Mochinski development be developed <br />at the same time which would enable a more varied <br />and more compatible development adjacent to the <br />single family area. <br /> <br />Mr. Mochinski stated that he has had contact with <br />the property owner of the property to the south and <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />NC-Sl, Schlieff <br />Report No. 81-171 <br />7:35 - 7:39 <br />RESOLUTION #2496 <br /> <br />PRD-32, PL-125, <br />LP-IIS, Hochinski <br />Report No. 81-172 <br />7:40 - 10:05 <br />
