<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 25, 1981 <br /> <br />The Mayor stated that in his opinion the <br />development was too great in density, <br />provided little or no buffer area between <br />the single family development and this <br />property, that the development was lacking <br />in open space and provided nothing unique <br />in terms of development and design. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Mayor with consent of the Council <br />directed receipt and filing of a letter <br />dated August 6, 1981 from Burdevco, Inc. <br /> <br />R-lI9, Council <br />Initiated Rezoning <br />Report No. 81-l73 <br />10:10 - 10:30 <br /> <br />Mr. Keith Harstad stated that he felt <br />that the majority of people were opposed <br />to any rezoning of the northerly 135 feet <br />of this property since that was the average <br />depth of a single family lot which is the <br />best type of development for that area. <br />Mr. Harstad stated that he felt that the <br />rest of the property was adequate for <br />R-2 development. <br /> <br />Mr. Forest Holmes, 270S 13A Street, stated <br />that he would rather see R-2 zoning rather <br />than a B-I Office zoning for the property <br />immediately north of Minnesota Federal. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek:to close <br />the hearing. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to <br />table consideration of R-ll9 indefinitely. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to <br />waive the license fees for the Church of <br />St. John the Baptist for food and 3.2 beer <br />license for the dates of September 19 and 20, <br />1981. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Food, 3.2 Beer <br />License - st. John's <br />Church <br />Report No. 81-163 <br /> <br />Mr.Palyan and Mr. Harstad were present to <br />discuss the storm sewer improvement. <br /> <br />Storm Sewer <br />Improvement <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 81-169 <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Benke to approve <br />the specified cost split as the most <br />practical and expedient way to install <br />the storm sewer with the City cost to be <br />funded from the Closed Bond Fund. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />-6- <br />
