<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />September 22, 1981 <br /> <br />Public Hearings <br />The City Planner reviewed the staff report <br />noting that there were several items particularly <br />relating to landscape and fire department acces- <br />sibility that had not been completed by the <br />applicant. <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Ernst, applicant, was present to <br />answer questions. Mr. Ernst stated that <br />he was ready at any time to meet with the <br />fire department and staff to resolve the <br />fire accessibility question. Mr. Ernst <br />also stated that he would agree to maintain <br />the pathway/emergency access from the Rice <br />Creek Shopping Center and the condominium <br />property. <br /> <br />No one else present at the meeting spoke <br />to the issue. <br /> <br />Hotion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmdit to <br />continue VN-223 until October 13, 1981 at <br />7:45 p.m. and request that the applicant <br />resolve the questions of fire accessibility <br />and landscaping. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Mr. Howard Rekstad, representing Salem <br />Baptist Church, addressed the Council and <br />requested that the council direct staff <br />to re-study the drainage problems in the <br />area of Mound Avenue and Rice Creek Road. <br />Mr. Rekstad also requested that the staff <br />work with Ramsey County regarding the <br />drainage along Silver Lake Road and that <br />if an improvement is found necessary that <br />the improvement be planned to be completed <br />in the spring of 1982. <br /> <br />G. J. peckman, owner of Lot 9, Block 6, <br />Mary's Rice Creek, stated that his lot <br />was lower than the Salem Baptist Church <br />property and that he does not contribute <br />to this watershed area. <br /> <br />The Mayor replied that the exact boundaries <br />of the drainage area would be determined <br />at the assessment hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Anderson, 2431 Mound Avenue, stated <br />that his lot was in the lowest area and that <br />they had had frequent problems with storm <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br />VN-223, LP-120 <br />Park Place Condominium <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 81-186 <br />7:35 - 8:l0 <br /> <br />Storm Drainage <br />Improvements <br />Hound Avenue/ <br />Rice Creek Road <br />Report No. 81-183 <br />
