<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />April 9, 1981 <br /> <br />TO: New Brighton City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Larry Olson, Chair New Brighton Citizen Study Committee <br /> <br />RE: Report of Committee Activities - First Quarter, 1981 <br /> <br />1. The Committee arranged and helped to present the annual <br />Community Leaders Workshop. Evaluations of the workshop <br />received by the Committee were uniformly favorable, <br />attendance was excellent, and the Committee believes <br />that the workshop was a success. Suggestions were <br />received which will be used to improve next years <br />workshop. <br /> <br />2. The Committee has prepared and presented to staff a <br />list of the data the Committee would like to have <br />available in order to complete its portion of the <br />requested property and facilities review. <br /> <br />3. The Committee is in the process of reviewing the feasibility <br />of developing a foundation in New Brighton similar <br />to the Edina Foundation. <br /> <br />4. The Committee will receive a report from a representative <br />of the League of Women Voters relative to their study <br />of solid waste disposal at our next meeting. The Committee <br />will then formulate its intentions on how to proceed in <br />its study of solid waste. <br /> <br />5. One new member has joined the Committee (Mr. Reno) <br />and a second new member is expected to join us at the <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Laurence W.
