<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />June 9, 1981 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />The Acting Mayor, with the consent of the Council, <br />directed receipt of a letter from the city attorney <br />concerning a request by a non-profit organization <br />for a gambling permit. <br /> <br />The City Attorney reviewed his letter regarding the <br />request of the Eagles Club for an ordinance licensing <br />and regulating gambling for non-profit organizations. <br />After considerable discussion the Council took no <br />action regarding an ordinance licensing and regulating <br />gambling for non-profit organizations. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt, to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR <br />MUNICIPAL PROJECT NUMBERS 81-1, 81-2, 81-3, AND 81-5 <br />and further to authorize the City Engineer and City <br />Attorney to acquire the necessary easements for projects <br />for 81-5, the 16a Street storm sewer by negotiation or <br />condemnation, <br /> <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to authorize <br />staff to negotiate an agreement with Barr Engineering <br />Company for the preparation of a Comprehensive Drain- <br />age Plan and to indicate the funding for the study will <br />come from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and further <br />to direct staff to notify the other twelve consulting <br />firms of the selection of Barr Engineering Co., thank- <br />ing them for their interest in the New Brighton project. <br /> <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek, to accept <br />the low quote of Halvorson construction in the amount <br />of $7.95 per lineal foot for the replacement of <br />approximately 40 sectionsof broken and settled concrete <br />curbing. <br /> <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Ordinance: Gambling for <br />Non-profit Organizations <br /> <br />Award of Bid: Projects <br />#81-1, 81-2, 81-3, 81-5 <br />Report No. 81-123 <br />Resolution No. 2466 <br /> <br />Contract Comprehensive <br />Drainage Study <br />Report No. 81-115 <br /> <br />Curb Repair Work <br />Report No. 81-112 <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke, to approve the Advertisement for Bids: <br />dump truck specifications and to authorize advertisement Dump Truck <br />for bids. Bids to be opened on June 22nd, 1981 and awarded Report No. 81-124 <br />June 23rd, 1981. <br /> <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to approve the <br />specifications for a new pump and motor for city well <br />#6 and authorize the advertisement for bids.
