City of New Brighton September 23, 1980 I Arlaine Edgettl 520 13th Avenue NW, expressed concern with the soil, can it support the proposed facilities? Eileene McKee, l621 Sioux Boulevard, spoke in favor of the proposed plan. Mr. Harcus, 1620 Sioux Boulevard, spoke in favor of the proposed park plan. Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to approve the plan as proposed with a single entrance and that widening of the driveway be investigated. Richard Neumann, 510 l3th Avenue NW, spoke to the project. He expressed concern with past improvements that did not work, but stated he felt the proposed plan had meri t. Dennis Foster, 645 17th Avenue NW, questioned how the plans were formulated. lIe suggested an incremental approach to the plan, reviewing each facility and the various parts as separate items. I Dar1e Sylvester, 1619 5th Street NW, stated the Park Board had discussed each facility separately as suggested by Mr. Foster. Motion by Senden to amend the motion to direct staff to study elongating the parking lot and also that they study whether the tot football field could be moved to a location away from the soccer field. Amendment died for lack of second. Vote on main motion. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried The Mayor declared a recess at 11:52 p.m. Council reconvened at 11:55 p.m. Mr. Mark Wojcik, representing Gordon Rendering, was present to answer questions. I Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to approve LP-I08 contingent upon the applicant receiving approval from the Rice Creek Watershed District and also that no outside storage be permitted. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried LP-I08, Gordon Rendering Co.
