City of New Brighton <br />October 14, 1980 <br />The proposal presented by Ms. Jorgensen provided <br />for removing the most easterly billboard on Mr. <br />Dahlke's property and the billboard on Town and <br />Country Sign property. She further commented <br />that after the removal of the two billboards <br />Naegele Outdoor Advertising desired two billboards <br />on Mr. Dahlke's property with an area of 686 square <br />feet each. <br />Council advised the applicant to work with staff to <br />resolve the situation within the parameter of the <br />existing sign ordinance. <br />No further action was taken. <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to <br />receive the report and refer to staff <br />for further study. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />The Director of Public Works reported to <br />Council that the cost of the proposal of <br />converting to underground utility services <br />would be approximately $6,000 - $7,000. <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to <br />refer this item back to staff for further <br />investigation and justification of the cost. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />The City Manager informed the Council that <br />preliminary testing regarding water samples <br />tested by the Department of Public Health <br />indicated the samples tested were absolutely <br />clean regarding PAH's and that PCP testing <br />results should be received within one week <br />and that a written report to the Council <br />would be forthcoming. <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />direct staff to take action either jointly <br />or individually with PCA and/or Department <br />of Public Health to publicize the test results. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br />Joe Fetter, C. Bryznski, and Tom Wanacheck <br />area residents, spoke in opposition to the <br />request as proposed. <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />direct staff to notify Columbia Heights <br />that the City of New Brighton could not <br />recommend installation of all -way stop <br />signs at Stinson Boulevard and Fairway Drive <br />for the following reasons: <br />-5- <br />New Brighton <br />Volunteer Fire <br />Department <br />Report No. 80-175 <br />Proposed Utility <br />Service Conversion <br />Palmer Dr. Liquor <br />Store <br />Report No. 80-178 <br />Preliminary Testing <br />Results - MacGillis <br />& Gibbs and Bell <br />Pole Problem. <br />Continue Action <br />Traffic Control <br />Stinson Blvd. <br />between Fairway <br />Dr. & Argonne Dr. <br />Report No. 80-173 <br />
