<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October 28, 1980 <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Doten, representing Bell Pole, <br />and Mr. Robert Norgard, representing <br />MacGillis & Gibbs Company were present <br />to answer questions. <br /> <br />Mr. Doten and Mr. Norgard stated that <br />both companies have been and are cooperating <br />fully with the State Pollution Control Agency <br />and that they have cooperated with the City <br />but that they did not feel inclusion of the <br />pole yards in the Offensive Trades License <br />Ordinance was necessary or advisable at this <br />time. <br /> <br />The City Council expressed concern with the <br />ponding area within the pole yard properties <br />and with the potential well water problems. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />refer the question of licensing as an offensive <br />trade to the Environmental Quality Commission <br />for study and report and to direct staff to <br />work with the various state agencies and two <br />pole companies regarding monitoring of the <br />situation and to report back to the City Council. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Attorney briefed the City Council <br />on the- status of the progress relating to <br />the condemnation of the Tom Oswalt residence <br />and recommended that the City not expend <br />funds for soil borings. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist <br />to adjourn at 8:55 p.m. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />vJ j /; / <br />, ~~ <br />Senden, Mayor <br /> <br />r:u:;:;-~ , a . fJj)-l~ <br />Vernon C.
