<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />, <br />!J <br /> <br /> <br />.oj(, <br /> <br />city of New Brighton <br />October 28, 1980 <br /> <br />, <br />. <br />1: <br /> <br />~ <br />t <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek <br />to approve the relocation of the utilities <br />pole at the Palmer Drive liquor store property <br />and to authorize the expenditure of $1,000 <br />for the pole relocation. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />., <br />~ <br />. <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />.1 <br />~ <br />I <br /> <br />Utilities Service <br />Palmer Drive <br />Liquor Store <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 80-178 <br /> <br />Mr. Wayne Babbitt representing the New <br />Brighton Fire Relief Association was <br />present to answer questions. <br /> <br />;~ <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />Mr. Babbitt asked that Paragraph F, <br />Article VII be amended by changing the <br />lump sum amount from $300 to $4S0 <br />and to amend Article IX, Section 3 <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Fire Relief <br />Association <br />Benefits <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 80-17S <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2392 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />"A fireman disabled while performing fire fighting <br />duties who cannot perform his regular or comparable <br />job shall receive a pension equal to the retirement <br />amount for 30 years service. Such pension shall <br />begin 12 weeks after the date of such disability <br />and end if he returns to his job. If the fireman <br />returns to his regular or comparable job but cannot <br />return to firefighting duties, he shall receive a <br />pension based on years of service from the date he <br />started until he reaches 50 years of age and would have <br />had 20 years of service. Benefits to begin when he <br />reaches 50 years of age and has what would have been <br />20 years of service." <br /> <br />.1 <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AMENDING THE <br />NEW BRIGHTON FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION PENSION AND <br />DISABILITY BENEFITS as proposed in the August 1980 <br />actuarial report by Hewitt Associates; and to approve <br />the 1980 amended Articles of Incorporation and <br />By-Laws with the addition of the above mentioned <br />amendments. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Mr. Vince Dahle, attorney representing the <br />homeowner, was present. <br /> <br />Hook-up Fee <br />Oakwood Ponds <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 80-134 <br /> <br />Mr. Dahle stated that they objected to the <br />fee since the homeowner's were not notified <br />of additional fees that the hook-up fee was <br />more than if the property was assessed, and <br />that they objected as the Statutes of Limitations <br />has expired and finally Mr. Dahle requested that <br />the Council direct return of the property owner's <br />hook-up fee paid in 1980. <br /> <br />I <br />t <br />, <br />, <br /> <br />After discussing the issue, the City Council <br />took no action. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />. <br />
