<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />November 12, 1980 <br /> <br />With the consent of the Council the Mayor <br />directed consideration of Item #12, Ramsey <br />County Staff recommendation regarding Long <br />Lake Park as the next item of business. <br /> <br />The Manager reviewed the content of his <br />report. <br /> <br />Long Lake/Rush Lake <br />Regional Park <br />Report No. 80-196 <br /> <br />Mr. Arlyn Gunderman, Chair of the Park Board, <br />reviewed the Park Board's action to the County's <br />staff proposal and stated the consensus of the <br />Park Board majority was that the City should not <br />consider such proposal until the County Board had <br />submitted such proposal to the City for its review. <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Johnson, Park Board member, speaking for <br />the minority felt that input should be provided <br />before the County Board considers the County staff <br />proposal. <br /> <br />After the Council and Park Board had discussed the <br />proposal at length, the Council acted in the following <br />manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to direct <br />staff to communicate as appropriate to the Ramsey <br />County Board that the City has reviewed the Ramsey <br />County Park and Recreation Director's proposal <br />regarding Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Park and <br />request favorable action on the four part action plan. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />With the consent of the Council the Mayor <br />directed receipt of an article of RURAL <br />AND URBAN ROADS/October, 1980 entitled <br />"Good Roads Do Cost Less" submitted by <br />Councilmember-Benke. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Street <br />Plan <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the Comprehensive Street <br />Plan and directed the fOllowing amendments: <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to add <br />reasoning and justification for concrete curbing <br />on page 13. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to preface <br />item l-C on page 15 by "considered for replacement <br />when..." <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />". <br />~ <br /> <br />1 <br />; <br />~ <br />l1 <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br />~, <br />~ <br />
