City of New Brighton
November 20, 1980

I

Councilmember Benke requested that staff provide information
regarding potential use of present basement meeting room if
used for storage versus meeting space. The intent being to
review the affect of this space use as storage on other City
facilities.

"-

Council recessed at 9:lS p.m.

Council reconvened at 9:25 p.m.

Liquor Store Building Plans

Mr. Dave Soloman and Mr. Herb Ketchum of Architectural
Alliance, Inc. and John Neal of Associate Project Corp.
Design Coalition were present. A model of the proposed
building was displayed, design sketches were also provided,
the total site preparation, landscaping and building costs
were estimated to be $800,000.

Concern was expressed regarding the density, as land area
is limited, the proposed building location is so near the
intersection which could create sight problems and that no
windows are projected for the north wall.

I

After considerable discussion the Council directed that
a presentation of the proposal be included as part of regular
Council business at the next regular Council meeting Tuesday,
November 2S, 1980.

The Council decided that because of the late hour no further
business would be considered.

Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to continue the public
hearing on the 1981-1986 Capital Improvements and Equipment
Program and 1981 Federal Revenue Sharing uses to a date to
be determined at a future meeting.
5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried

Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to adjourn at
11:24 p.m.
5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried

I ~I P. {JJ.A~
Vernon C.
