City of New Brighton April 22, 1980 I Steve Thompson, Chair of the New Brighton Citizens Study Committee, explained the discussion held by the Committee. He stated that the Committee has not had the opportunity to review the ordinance amendments and that the City has not formally reviewed the license fees. The Council expressed concern with the proposed license fee and also over- lapping inspections by Federal, State and the City inspectors. Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to refer proposed ordinance amendments back to the Citizens Study Committee for further study and report, with such study to include the Council's above stated concerns and also to inform the interested parties of the current status. 4 ayes - 1 naye (Benke) - motion carried I Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to direct the City Manager to negotiate an agreement and/or contract for an energy mini-audit at a cost not to exceed funds received by the Minnesota Energy Agency. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried Energy Mini-Audit Report No. 80-65 Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to direct staff to prepare a report regarding Audit recommendations as included in the 1979 Audit report and further to request a member of the audit firm to be present to discuss the details. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried 1979 City Audit Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to commend St. Jude Medical Inc. and Abbey Associates for the quality and professionalism of the presentation and direct staff to relay Council's appreciation to said parties. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to adjourn at 9:31 p.m. 5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried ATTEST: /J I ~aQJJ1 -7- Vernon C. pederso~rk
