In 1978 <br />we contracted for 16.69 miles at $5,424.25. In 1979 we increased <br />the mileage to 17.19 and added 7 percent to reach $5,977.82. For <br />1980, we added 7 percent, the mileage remained constant at 17.19, <br />and our agreement is for $6,396.23. For the year 1981 we have <br />projected a 10 percent increase for the street sweeping costs. <br /> <br />As you know, Les, in government we all are restricted by budgetary <br />considerations. We have the same type of increases you do which <br />is essentially why we projected a higher increase for 1981. There <br />is nothing I can do for 1980 because funds are not available. I <br />am very hopeful that your counci 1 wi 11 support the existing agree- <br />ment. <br /> <br />I wish to thank you for your letter.
