<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City uf New Brighton <br />March 11, 1980 <br /> <br />Vote on motion as amended. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke <br />to authorize the Mayor and Manager to <br />negotiate and execute a contract with <br />Barton-Aschman Associates for technical <br />assistance in regard to the downtown <br />development district efforts. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />After considerable discussion the Council <br />acted in the following manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Schmidt to: <br />1) Direct staff to seal and abandon Well <br />#l at a cost estimate of $2,000 with the <br />funds to be provided from revenue sharing. <br />2) To delay the preparation of plans and <br />specifications until at least the fall of <br />1980 in regard to the abandonment of Well <br />#2 and the increase of capacity for Well <br />#6, and to determine that funds for the <br />abandonment of Well #2 and increasing the <br />capacity of Well #6 will, when ordered, be <br />appropriated from the water fund. <br />3) To delay the removal of the old water <br />tower, removal of the pumphouse structure, <br />and site excavation until developer <br />proposals are solicited and an architect <br />can advise the City on building design <br />relative to expected site modifications. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Senden to reconsider Council <br />action of the last Council meeting regarding <br />the approval of the 10th Street improvement <br />project for purposes of including the <br />signalization of the lOth Street and Old <br />Highway #8 intersection. <br /> <br />Motion died for lack of second. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />direct City staff to work with the County <br />and State officials in regard to the <br />signalization of the 10th Street and <br />Old Highway #8 intersection and to communicate <br />to these officials that the City Council <br />considers the downgrading of this intersection <br />or delay in construction of the traffic signal <br />as having a potentially detrimental affect on <br />a major redevelopment of the downtown area which <br />was the primary reason for the entire lOth Street <br />improvement project. <br />4 ayes - 1 nave (Benke) - mo~io~ car~ied <br /> <br />Technical Assistance <br />Agreement <br />Downtown Development <br />District <br />Report No. 80-34 <br /> <br />Fire Station Site <br />Grading <br />Improvement Project <br />#80-5 <br />Supplement to Report <br />No. 80-25 <br /> <br />Traffic Signal <br />lOth St and Old Hwy 8 <br />Report No. 80-35 <br />
